Green Collect Notebook

Striving for a world without waste, Green Collect is a social enterprise that helps businesses reduce their environmental impact through resource recovery and recycling. From small businesses to international corporations, Green Collect services more than 200 businesses across Melbourne to off load their hard- to-recycle office waste to be reused, recycled or upcycled. They offer one-off or regular collection of regular office waste such as furniture, phones, electrical cables, hard hats, printer cartridges, files, stationary, globes and ewaste. In 2019 alone they saved more than 1 million items from landfill (that’s 125 tonnes of waste!).
Not only are Green Collect experts in developing sustainable solutions, but they also offer employment opportunities for those struggling to find work, such as refugees and people experiencing homelessness. Around 60% of the items collected get reused, while the other 35% get sorted and dismantled for recycling. Reusable items that can be salvaged or upcycled such as desks, tables, chairs, storage cabinets, IT and electrical items are all sold in the Green Collect stores. They also stock second-hand and vintage clothing, homewares, upcycled notebooks and boxes of stationary.
